When a program loses its way it's often a slow path back to the rails that had them on their smiling way. The internet has changed the way we all think and behave. Our communications are more instantaneous than at any time before. Some would love for things to go back to the way they were. But that is not happening in fact the changes we are seeing with sports and our beloved college football are traveling so fast you better not blink.
USC has turned Heritage Hall into an overnight media campaign with BLVD. Some are not smiling but others love this. They believe it's moving the program out into the limelight vs banking on the brand to attract the best and the brightest to the campus.
I happen to be on the plus side when it comes to the media strategies but I tend to go future vs hanging on to the past regardless of what a market is doing. Isn't that the challenge with this generational divide on how we communicate? Twitter pushed us all into a world we knew nothing about. Globalization has occurred and with our college football recruiting it's clearly game on or watch your team slowly sink in the ranks of the Power 5 elite.
USC has invested in moving forward. Will everyone jump on the new bandwagon? In time we will see. In time I believe this show is just getting started.
